The thing about Chicago was that, a lot of the time, you tended to stick around your own neighborhood.

For those who felt Changes messed with their hearts, Ghost Story is going to mess with their heads.

It took me 3.5 hours to read it.

My only complaint is that we have once again ended on a cliffhanger.

Thing 1: Ghost Story will be delayed; now due to release 26 July 2011

Thing 2: book 14 will be titled Winter Knight, due out in 2012

Thing 3: if you have an audible.com acct and a kindle - the two will be linked and any audiobooks you have through audbile.com will dl to your kindle (no, i didn't know this when i bought my kindle, bad me *g*)

Thing 4: there will likely be more short stories and short story anthologies in the future; possibly one featuring Mister and Mouse - which may end up v. much like Pinky & the Brain. =)

Think that's all I've got from MarsCon for now. If anyone else was there or read reports and has more - feel free to fill in.

Until then, it's a long wait until July.

I've been horribly impatient, but my hard cover copies of the two books that make up the core of the Dresden Files RPG finally arrived today.

One of the first things I did was go to the from of Our World and read the new short story AAAA Wizardry.

Sure, I could have read it months ago when the PDFs were available, but I waited. And it was worth it.

There's a snippet from the story piece Jim Butcher wrote for the Dresden Files RPG that Evil Hat put together.

Snippet is here: http://www.dresdenfilesrpg.com/2010/05/04/a-peek-into-our-world-aaaa-wizardry/

There are also links to purchase the RPG materials in hard copy + PDF or PDF-only. And lemme tell you, I've only seen bits and pieces, but Fred and company put a LOT of work into this RPG and the pages / stories / character sheets look amazing!

At some point in the very near future, yes, I will have, at least, the PDF copy of the RPG. With Gatecon coming up, the budget's a little tight just now. XD

...and I can't believe I totally forgot this comm was here. whoops!

Anyway - I posted this in my DW yesterday, but I'll link it here for those folks what aren't in my reading circle/network:

Harry Dresden - interviewed.

It's sort of a role-play style interview. And it looks like Jim had a lot of fun with it. XD

ETA: It's a couple years old... and carries potential spoilers for all the books through Small Favor. XD

I've been following Jim Butcher on Twitter (twitter.com/longshotauthor) and he posted recently about how much the wizard in Disney's upcoming Sorcerer's Apprentice film reminds him of a certain Harry Dresden.

Up to that point, the new movie hadn't even been on my radar, but that makes me want to see it. He seems excited about it too.

I found a trailer here, but be aware the interview printed below the trailer contains spoilers: http://scifiwire.com/2010/03/how-sorcerers-aprrentice.php

Much gratitude to [personal profile] highlander_ii for providing this link:

Even if it is a couple of years old.

Something that always got my attention with the previous books is that the issue hinted at in the jacket/cover summary never seems to kick in until the end of chapter 1, if not chapter 2.

Turn Coat took 3 sentences.

I read it in about 4 hours' time, including minor interruptions.
